About Clarkes Coaches
A Business with Traditional Values
Our priority in business has always been to put the customer first. And that's just what we have been doing for more than 50 years. It's one of the main reasons for our success and why Clarkes enjoys such an envied reputation.
The company was first established in 1958 by Mr 'Snowy' Clarke and Lillian Clarke, who at the time traded predominantly as a small time haulier transporting coal within the Penge area. Initially providing the odd trip to the seaside for the local children, the business soon developed into providing coaches for local schools and clubs.
In 1972 Snowy's eldest son, Bill Clarke together with his wife, who were already involved in the company, took control and began to broaden the services provided by the business.
Since Bill's retirement, control of the company has passed to his eldest daughter Deborah, who has continued the philosophy of the business, but is strengthening the management team to meet the future needs of the company.
The Board of Directors no longer comprises all family members, but includes professionals with many years experience of the industry and finance to assist in developing the company for the future.
We do Everything with Care,
