New for 2008 - Clarkes takes delivery of seven Scania Berkhof 12.9m Axial 70's
Clarkes coaches has taken delivery of seven new Scania Berkhof coaches, the first two-axle chassis to be equipped with 12.9m overall length Berkhof Axial 70 Highline bodies. The Scania K340EB chassis is fitted with a 340 horsepower Scania 12-litre six cylinder engine and a six speed fully automatic ZF gearbox. Drivers will benefit from the specification of cruise control, drivers bunk and are supported by a range of safety features including ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ASR ( Anti-slip Regulation), ELC ( Electronic Levelling Control) and a reversing camera.
The coaches are branded in our distinctive livery with further elegance added by the specification of Alcoa 'Durabrite' alloy wheels. The 12.9m configuration provides considerable advantages in terms of luggage capacity and also allows greater legroom for the 53 Vogel reclining seats. Other features include Webasto heating, Sutrak air-conditioning , 3 point seat belts, a centre sunken toilet, hot drinks facility, DVD player with twin monitors and a tow bar.
